The West Harlem is pleased to have film-maker Ina Archer as a guest curator for our special Armory Week Show. FUƧION NEW YORK is an engaged, curator-driven art show. The organizers will produce up to sixteen curatorial experiences for the public. The show will explore what it takes to live like a full human being. Technology has changed our lives forever. And it affects our relationships, quality of life and how we relate to one another. So, we will look at ways where we can integrate our life, tastes, desires and environment through the lens of curators and artists of color.
Ina Archer was born in Paris, France. She attended The Rhode Island School of Design, received her graduate degree in Cinema Studies from New York University and later participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. She is an advocate for film preservation, and she is particularly interested in innovative early sound cinema and musical comedies. Archer’s single and multi-channel videos have been shown in venues such as The Studio Museum in Harlem, The List Visual Arts Center @ MIT, White Columns, The NY Expo of Short Films and Spelman College Museum of Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia. Archer lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
