Jonathan Lyndon Chase has lived and worked in Philadelphia his whole life, receiving his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in 2016. Chase has received numerous awards from PAFA and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and was recently announced as a 2019 Fellow by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage. Represented by Company Gallery in New York, Chase has been included in recent exhibitions at the Rubell Family Collection Contemporary Arts Foundation, Miami, FL (2018-2019); Taubman Museum of Art, Roanoke, VA (2018); California African American Museum, Los Angeles, CA (2017); Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA (2017); and The Bunker, Collection of Beth Rudin DeWoody, Palm Beach, FL (2017). Chase’s work resides in numerous public and private collections throughout the world including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN; and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA. Chase has had two publications released for his recent solo exhibitions, Sheets (2018) and Quiet Storm (2018), and has been featured in numerous periodicals, including GQ, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) is an internationally acclaimed contemporary art museum devoted both to the creation and presentation of innovative works of art. Its Artist-in-Residence Program provides artists at all stages of their careers with the opportunity to collaborate with FWM as they experiment with new materials and new media, taking their work in fresh and often unexpected directions. Founded in 1977 by Marion “Kippy” Boulton Stroud (1939-2015), FWM presents ambitious exhibitions which convey a story of contemporary art that unites process with finished works.
