The West Harlem Art Fund is looking forward to working with Ecuadorian artist Raul Ayala. We are inviting artists to do more street art in our area. Ayala is leveraging his visual arts skills into murals that incorporates local history, interest and values.
Street art used to be referred to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives. The discipline can include traditional graffiti artwork, sculpture, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerilla art, and street installations. Typically, the term street art or the more specific post-graffiti is used to distinguish contemporary public-space artwork from territorial graffiti, vandalism and corporate art.
